What will I look like after lip augmentation or lip enhancement?
You should see the nice puffing or plumping of the lip immediately after. Rarely there may be bruising. The lip swells so that the lips may look too large but icing and time will reduce the swelling after a day or two.

What is a lip lift?
A lip lift is a plastic surgery procedure to shorten, elevate and lift the lip. The purpose is to make the lip look shorter and younger with more pink lip exposed. The problem with lip lift plastic surgery is that the scar is very visible beneath the nose. In my practice the scar is unacceptable and we achieve adequate lip lift with the use of dermal filler lip injections or lip augmentation.
What are lip implants?
Lip implants are biocompatible, permanent materials surgically placed into the lip for lip augmentation or enhancement. Common materials include Bioplastique® and Gore-Tex®. Because the lips have strong muscles and remove frequently non-biological implant materials are not well tolerated in the lips. Lip implants can extrude or become exposed in some patients. Dermal filers have replaced the lip lift in our practice.
